From $5K to $200K: How Whitney Bonds Built a YouTube Business With a Tiny Remote Team

Whitney Bonds, YouTuber, top 10 HighLevel affiliate and founder of SiteMaster Pro, joins Athar Siddiqui for episode 6 of the LevelUp speaker series on The Remote First Podcast.
Whitney shares how HighLevel found her by accident after one AI video, how she runs a big affiliate business with a small part-time remote team (including her mom, who edits her reels), and why she still reads every video off a teleprompter. She is honest about working with family, and Athar explains how the three RepStack brothers keep a one-hour call every Monday so nothing builds up.
Then the story: a 9 to 5, a second baby on the way, a blog for moms that made $5,000 in its first year and over $200,000 the next. Her rule through all of it: trust the process, not the progress. She also explains how a $30,000 January from one YouTuber got her on camera, how an interview with Andy Audate turned into a coaching relationship, and why a four-year-old video about dog treats still ranks first.
Both Athar and Whitney will be at HighLevel's LevelUp summit in Dallas. Whitney will be on stage talking about YouTube content that lasts for years.

And he said, well, in just the month of January, I made $30,000 in just ad revenue. And that's when I was like, OK, where's my camera? And so when you learn how to do it the right way, you can be found for years. And so the whole year I only made $5,000. And then the very next year, I made over $200,000 because I just stayed with that. I had this thing to trust the process, not the progress. All right, guys, welcome to Remote First podcast. We have HighLevel speaker series. We're talking to all the people that are going to be speaking or have spoken on HighLevel summits before. Today, we have a special guest. She's a serial speaker at HighLevel. She has spoken before. She's done a master class. She has a big, big resume here, top 10 HighLevel affiliate. that is the basis of what you know HighLevel promotes uh its growth on featured in Forbes Yahoo Finance Business Insider uh YouTuber for sure uh you know like it sets up a benchmark as far as HighLevel and or any other uh business is concerned I think that's I would I would be safe to say is her weapon uh yeah uh as far as marketing is concerned and you know you're big on deals like no deals I think I forgot the term that you use that is big one so yeah that is I guess YouTube is for you 200,000 plus subscribers that's yeah same we're going to talk about that also a little bit site master pro Whitney Bonds welcome to remote first podcast tell us about a little bit about yourself and your engagement with HighLevel yeah so it kind of all happened on accident. So I'm a YouTuber. And so I create content about just different things that are working for other people. And I did a video on like different ways to make money with AI. And I just happened to mention HighLevel and that video did pretty good. And they saw that and they came to me and asking me to, you know, be a, can I be a sponsor of them? And I was like, sure. I actually use a product. So, and then, so from there it became like this great relationship where I actually started my own agency, my voice. And so it's like giving me multiple streams of income now just from mentioning them in a video, them coming to me, and then now I'm like one of the top affiliates. I'm actually helping other people start their agency, make money from it, and just business owners as well. So it's just, it's been a whirlwind, but it's just such a blessing. You said it was an accident. You were making a video on AI. So what was that video about? Yeah, it was like I think the video was like five on certain unsaturated ways to make money with AI. And so I had different tools in that video about how to make money with AI. And I just happened to mention HighLevel, just kind of, it was just one of the ways that you can make money with AI. And, you know, anything on YouTube right now about AI or anything, it just does well. So one of the things that I know, you know, I want is my videos to do well. So I decide on topics that I think a lot of people want to watch. And so that's how it happened. Hmm. That's, you know, always. It means, you know, you got to just show up all the time. I had no relationship with them as far as sponsorships or affiliate or anything. I just saw that it was a good way to make money with using one of their strategies. So I just mentioned it. And so that's a good point, too, that you don't always have to try and reach out to the brands first. Like show proof of concept first. and they might reach out to you or you at least have the proof to say i did a video sharing your product and it did really well you maybe you want to work together yeah for us also at rep stack the idea is keep focusing uh and on what we have control over that is our delivery our fulfillment our resources uh and you know when the time comes um you know you should be ready yeah you cannot start getting ready when someone comes and knocks you should all right uh so that's you know keeping your horses ready that's really uh good so i have you know going back now uh to your team you know so you always talk about very small team remote tell us about you know you're running such a um you know big successful affiliate program you're running site master pro you're touring all the time you're speaking on stages yeah what is that in the back end who's helping you how is your team structure like? Yeah. So, um, I have my brand manager who just works on sponsorship. So whenever something comes by, I'll just send it to her and she's commission based. And then I have, um, an assistant that is, I have two assistants that are basically there for helping me with like, um, HighLevel stuff, my community and, um, social media editing. And, um, another one is, um, my mom actually and she helps with just kind of anything that I need help with she actually does my reels that she's really good at so um and they're most of them are uh part-time um except one of them so um but yeah that's so that's my structure it's not a huge team they work part-time um but it's just a you know it's a good well-oiled machine like my bit my the way my business runs It's like my videos are my primary bread and butter. So it's like it's just me. I write my own scripts. I have an editor, though, that edits my videos and he does my thumbnails. But I come up with the thumbnail concept. So, yeah, so every day, I mean, not every day, but I try and post at least two videos a week. But that's just me sitting down thinking about the strategy, thinking about the thumbnail, the title. How can I make this a good video? And then I record. And I still, to this day, I read off of a teleprompter because I'm just not one of those people that can just start talking and just be on point. So I write everything down in a Google Doc. And I literally, I talk with my hands when I'm reading so it doesn't look like I'm reading. But I read every video that I do. That's, you know, so that's good. You know, some insights, what we learned. It was a week. That's, you know, for our audience, that would be kind of a benchmark, you know, minimum. You want to follow someone who's being successful. And usually, you know, for us, it's coaching. And coaching is kind of following someone's example who's doing it right. Yeah. And has been successful. And now you're already coaching. So that would be really good for our audience. And apart from that you know you talked about your mom And also I saw one of your videos You were with your sister also yeah she got in the game too just from me doing it and now she got a client that she helped him make over and it just amazing just to say like what happens when you put yourself out there you can make money and help businesses like drastically just by little changes so it's just amazing and how is it working so at RepStack with three brothers three co founders we're working together for last six years something wow similar time and that you started you know in 2019 so how is it working with your mom and your sister right because it is business I will say right I don't recommend it I like I love it because I'm with my family but oh my gosh I tell them like if you work for anybody else it would not be like this you know like they they take advantage of the situation like I'm not gonna fire them just because they have my heart but I'm telling you it's good because I love that we can build this together and I feel so grateful I'm blessed that I can you know have them with me I'm it's a huge blessing to God the only reason I'm in here in this doing this is because God blessed with the idea to even get started but it's just a so it's a blessing but it's also just like it's still my family and and they do a good job but i'm telling you like i'm like certain things most people would not let that pass but you know it's family so what can you do pros and cons yeah but yeah if if you can make it work we have our what we do uh in our call every monday no matter what happens now you know we're growing no matter what happens we make a point to be talking to each other for one hour all three of us together that's sometimes we got boxing matches going on in there and sometimes we're just talking about travels right but we make sure we're there anything that bothers anybody we just say it out and by the time we're done with the call you know we're all on the same page that's so good yeah yeah but i'm sure you like it's something about like oh like sometimes i'm just like but at the end of the day if life is all that i mean it's just what a blessing to be able to work with your family and build something together, you know? Yeah, build something. And with us being from Pakistan, you know, we have a kind of what you call given an opportunity. So like you're 100% remote. You said you never met your clients. So most of our resources, they're focused working on digital marketing agencies in USA and everybody's placed out of Pakistan. 70% of them are females. Oh, wow. That is one thing that we were able to do by going 100% remote. So my question with you is, you sound like you're also remote. Yeah. Your team left and right. So how do you build everybody to run on the same alignment and also kind of build a team culture? Because it is remote culture. That's actually what I'm talking about, but I want to get your view on it. Yeah, so we are very flexible. I don't want to be like, these are your hours that you work, but I am on, this is your task. We meet every Tuesday and we know we kind of talk about where the business is, what needs to be done this week. And then we end the call knowing what what are we doing for the rest of the week. And so I just hold them accountable to say like, OK, when we meet back again, what happened? And we talk throughout the week like we're constantly communicating, but we know what we're supposed to be doing. So that's kind of how we do like the cadence and keeping them accountable. But it's not like like i mean one of my um assistants she's has taken kids to the doctor i'm not watching her on the clock she doesn't have to tell me that she gets to go she just does what she's supposed to do and then you know and i love that because that's what i wanted that's why i quit my job because i didn't have that so i want to give them the freedom and flexibility but also you know you got to get done what you said you would get done so kind of like that yeah yeah flexibility definitely in remote first uh so what our benchmark is almost the same thing right you got to be flexible because it is remote and as i said you know we have 70 percent of our uh you know employees we are at uh 245 right now that is crazy yeah and all of those you know and some of them are moms so we just tell okay it is 200 2026 uh everybody's working from home sometimes kids come in yeah you know just you say okay excuse me or you can keep continuing nobody's now notices it because everybody knows you but yeah you need to have a dedicated workspace usually yeah most of the times but sometimes you know it happens and same thing you know you got to feed your kids get a snack um like my daughter forgot her laptop going to school yesterday so i had to go drop it but i could not have done it if i was working at jv morgan i know we are so blessed it's just like but most people can a lot of people have this life they just don't decide that there's only one way the traditional route you know it takes courage uh yeah from you know we're still talking about your family so i had this actually a question for later but i'll bring it up right now because i just also saw your video when you were unboxing the award from oh yeah so how was it of course getting it and how was it you know with your kids jumping around like it's Christmas morning. Yeah, it's so cool because they love it. Like even when they have like school at home because of like the weather or something like that, my son, he'll get my plaque. Let me, oh, you can't see it up there. But and just show it like he'll keep it behind his laptop so people can see it. Oh my God, that's awesome. But they love it. They love that I'm a YouTuber. Their friends love it. So it makes them the cool. I got the cool, my mom's a YouTuber with all these subscribers. So they love it because the kids care about that kind of stuff. You know, they love YouTube, even though my what I talk about is not what they would look at. But they absolutely love it. And my daughter wants to be a YouTuber, my son. And so and I'm getting them in the game early. So I absolutely love it. I think it's it's even changed my mind about college, like the way that they want to. I'm like, you guys are business owners. You're not. I mean, if you want to go to college, go. But I not pushing it I pushing them to be entrepreneurs and building something on their own So what made you now I going to off my questions is what made you ready to be an entrepreneur because now you planning for your kids same thing everybody business owners right most of our reasons why is our families yeah um and then of course you see all the time you're yeah we see 200 000 subscribers youtube but we know and i know for myself that there's a lot of stuff that did not work before that right oh my god failures uh those are we call them experiences now uh and we look at them um with you know okay these these were good experiences but you never would want to go through it so what made you ready did uh before you started uh you know uh site master pro and starting recording videos what were you doing before yeah it's a great question okay so um before so going all the way back i was at my nine to five. And when I got pregnant with my daughter, my second child, I went to be able to quit my job. So I was asking, like, I started Googling, how do you make money from home with kids? And I couldn't find actual moms who were doing it. So long story short, I'm not going to get into it because we'll be here all day. But I finally asked God, I'm a believer. And I was like, I didn't even ask. I got a note about praying and stuff like that. But I didn't do that. I went to Google. But Google wasn't giving me my answer. So I finally, it's like, God, what can I do? And I did not get my answer right away, but I'll never forget. I was four months pregnant. One of the things that I saw, though, was that these bloggers make$100,000 a month and I only needed $2,000. So I said, if I could just make $2,000, that's all I need. and um but writing was my worst skill set like literally and when I was my interview and they tell you what your weakness ask you what your weaknesses are I said writing was one of my weakest skill sets and um long story short I put that on the shelf but when I after I would continue to pray and ask God for some direction he gave me the idea to start a blog for moms like me who are trying to figure out how to make money from home and that because that was my problem so long story short, I said, okay, it was like this knowing that that's it is not it's a from God. So I'm going to do it. I have no idea how I'm going to do it. But I'm going to do it. And long story short, I'm trying to find how do I find moms that are working from home doing well, that was my problem. So I'm in a Facebook group. And it literally was a podcaster saying I'm going to do a podcast interviewing successful stay at home moms, put in the comment section what you do and your email address so I can contact you. And I'm like, oh my gosh, this is my everything right here. And all these moms are putting what they do. And so I reached out to these moms with just the idea. I said, I have this idea for a website that I want to create. And I want to see if I can interview you to share your story. And they all said yes. And they even told me how much they made because that's a big thing. Like they don't know me and tell me how much they earn. So long story short, I created a website with all their stories. I call it tried and true mom jobs. And the first year, it was rough. I only made$5,000 the entire year. But when I had my daughter by March 12th, I took an extended maternity leave and I said, I made my first $500 for my blog. I'm like, okay, this is proof of concept. I can do it if I just stick with it. And so the whole year, I only made $5,000. And then the very next year, I made over$200,000 because I just stayed with that. I have this thing to trust the process, not the progress. So I had to trust the process. If those hundred thousand dollars a month bloggers if they did it and it took them a while to do it I can just trust that process that I'm doing the right thing and so I did that and my blog just blew up and more money than I ever made before and then one of the traffic sources I was getting from my blog was Pinterest they changed their algorithm and I lost all my traffic from them so I was only getting all my traffic to my blog from from Google now I had to learn SEO and um I interviewed this youtuber on my channel because I said I would never start a youtube channel I never wanted to be on camera. I never wanted to show my face and talk. I didn't think I spoke well I had these insecurities at the time. I was not living a nice house like a beautiful instagram worthy house So i'm like insecure about where i'm living And oh like my backgrounds, you know and um So I had I interviewed this youtuber though And he told me I asked him how much do you make? and he said, well, in just the month of January, I made $30,000 in just ad revenue. And that's when I was like, okay, where's my camera? Because I was not going to allow my fear hold me back from the one thing I want more than anything, which was stay home and raise my kids. So that gave me the courage to say like, okay, this can work and whether I want to do it or not, this is how I can stay home and make a nice amount of money and still raise my kids on my own schedule. And so I did it and they said post a good quality video once a week and at the time and so that's what I did once a week I was faithful to it I was posting a video no matter what and that's why I built my channel up to now 200 well now I've increased that but to now over 200,000 200,000 subscribers you know making six figures per year and giving God the glory because it's all because he just gave me the idea so that's kind of my story and how that idea is but I also I would and you call out that the drive that you have so i know i'm parent also and we have uh as i said a lot of mothers working at rep stack and me being the manager i see uh you know i can contact and i know right after child no matter how strong you are it is people get overwhelmed oh my god you got that uh still drive you kept on going i know that is a whole different story but yeah you did it right after you know having kids during and that process that gives you an effort in my books you know and some extra stars definitely because no matter what you know your support system you have family or not yeah it is a big step a big change so I think in both things coming to you at the same time I gotta give you you know a salute for sure oh thank you it was not easy at all but I thank God for it though but yeah it was not easy yeah I like your story that you went from from God straight to Google and you're like, and then you got your answers. And also like small little targets, right? You did not want, okay, I'm gonna just concrete like 2000. What I have, you know, go with that and then you scale slowly So interviewing you know that interesting because your interview with Andy Audet keeps coming up And, you know, he's also part of Affiliate and he's, I think, your coach. Yeah. And I'm really, you know, a big fan and a friend of him also. I went to his event in Philippines. Oh, wow. yeah HighLevel uh assembly ghl assembly uh event in vegas earlier this year oh yeah so how does it um you know what what did uh it feel like what did you interview uh andy on and then how did it flip to you being uh you know asking him to becoming your coach yeah so it's amazing how it works so i code dm'd him on facebook because i saw the facebook group how he like how great he was doing I'm like, I want to interview him on my YouTube channel. So I just DM him. I just said, hey, at the time I had like 100,000 subscribers. And I said, hey, I saw your story and I think you're doing really well. I want to see if I can interview you. And I said, I have 100,000 subscribers trying to give him a reason to want to work with me, like do the video. And he said, yeah. So we did that video and that video kind of went viral. It got like over 100,000 views and a lot more traffic to his business. so after that we stayed in contact and we became good friends and then like um this was maybe last year last year um like we just stayed in contact and then um i interviewed him about how you can build these ai receptionists and that's kind of how everything started um because that video was like super cool i'm like oh my gosh this is super cool and um i wanted to help my friend who was working two jobs, seven days a week. I wanted to help her make some more money. And long story short, I helped her get a client with under two hours of trying for $997 a month. And that story is like the reason why I'm like, okay, I'm going to start my own agency. Because if I can help her, I can do the same thing for myself and have multiple streams of income. So all because of Andy is the reason why I decided to start my own agency. And then I built a community helping other people. And like, it's amazing what you can do. Like I had a woman that went all in. She's a mom and when she quit her corporate job, she went all in her first 30 days in my community, learning this stuff. She made over $7,000 and that's life changing for somebody who's trying to just, you know, make some money and raise their kids. And then another, a guy in my community, he just said, um, he emailed me and said, I'm trying to stay humble, but I'd me and his partner, they just made like 10 to 15, no, 15 to $20,000 last month. And they made $3,000 today. I was like, Oh my gosh, you're doing it. So it's like, for me, just doing this out of the pure, just one of multiple streams of income and then sharing this story and building this community. It's just being able to help other people too. I just feel like I feel so blessed to be in this position for something that I didn't know anything about, started, shared it, and now they're doing, it's just amazing so to your point on being humble so there are two schools of thought on it you know the same with praying people say or sometimes you know if you're praying you should pray in solitude or you know yeah yeah yeah maybe you know you should pray in front of other people so other people or i want to pray too yeah yeah yeah so if you're sharing uh you know it could motivate someone that oh you know your story your success man you know i can do it it's same thing whether you looked at someone's YouTube or they're doing it, I can start with my own little piece of pie or cheese that, you know, gets stuck on the knife. That's all we need. You know, that much what do you call of needs? But yeah, so that's, I think, you know, it was a really good conversation. I have wanted to ask, you know, what are you going to be doing or bringing to the table this time around at HighLevel i know you're coming again uh october 26th to 29th uh dallas and this yeah so what are you bringing yeah so i'll be speaking on tuesday and let me talk about youtube and how to create content that lasts for years because one of the things that i learned with my blog was seo and so i took that same concept because youtube is owned by google and i had to master google and seo to learn how to actually rank on Google. So when you search for work from home jobs, you will find my blog. So the same concept works for YouTube. YouTube is a search engine. When you're searching for something, you want to show up in the search results. And so when you learn how to do it the right way, you can like be found for years. I have content in the very first video. Like if you search for how to sell dog treats, like I was just doing videos on everything and I don't even have a dog but as i'm still the video the first video you see on there and that's four years ago and i have an affiliate program that was promoting that video and so this is something that can last for years if you know how to do it the right way okay and for our audience also and for me also yeah me workshop was i know you run a lot of different programs for someone who's trying to start their youtube channel uh or start their business you know so is there a program that you do that we can uh or our audience can sign up for yeah so i'm glad you said that because i so i kind of i was doing that youtube workshop and then i stopped to kind of went all in on HighLevel and my own agency so it was too much so i kind of stopped it but i do want to bring it back because that's like my that's what i know i do it all the time so i'm like yeah so i'm probably going to bring it back and um but yeah so when i do i will let you know in your community okay definitely Yeah, so I personally would love to learn from you. I'm going to go try to watch more of your videos. The best thing is you learn from the experts. That's why we got you on our podcast. Again, thanks for coming. Thanks for your time for a remote first podcast. And then I'm going to be there. Definitely come. We have a rep stack booth. Yes. We'll have a little bit of like a goodie back for you. So come drop by, pick it up. Make sure you keep room in your carry on because most of the people say, oh, I can't take gifts because, but I'm just telling you that, you know, we're going to have a little bit of a gift for you on our booth when you show up in Dallas. And again, thanks for showing up on our podcast with me. Thank you so much for having me. This was a lot of fun.
